Overview

 The Accounts Receivable & Collections Manager is responsible for overseeing all receivables, billing, and collections functions across hotel and casino operations. This role focuses on ensuring timely cash flow, reducing outstanding balances, and maintaining compliance with New Jersey gaming regulations and internal controls. This position works closely with teams that manage credit, front office and sales & catering.

Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable and Collections Management

  • Oversee billing, invoicing, and cash application for hotel rooms, food & beverage outlets, casino activity, and group/events business
  • Ensure accurate and timely posting, documentation and compliance of all receivables and collection payments
  • Deposit all received checks
  • Prepare and monitor AR aging reports, collection forecasts and bad debt analysis
  •  and drive timely resolution of outstanding balances
  • Manage and lead communication and collection efforts for corporate accounts, group clients, and applicable casino-related receivables
  • Develop and execute strategies to reduce delinquency and improve collection cycles
  • Recommend Hotel/Casino Write Offs
  • Work closely with front office, sales & catering, casino hosts, credit team and finance teams to track casino-related receivables and for account resolution
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and improve billing processes
  • Provide Win/Loss Statements to Casino patrons upon request
  • Balance guest service considerations with financial controls
  • Establish and maintain a structured diary/log system to document all collection activities
  • Ensure documentation supports audit requirements, legal proceedings, and internal controls
  • Maintain and analyze collection recovery statistics compared to historical performance and benchmarks
  • Identify trends and recommend process improvements to enhance cash flow and recovery rates
  • Support audits and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Experienced in the preparation and completion of Accounts Receivable Aging Reports, Collection Forecasting, and Bad Debt Analysis
  • All other duties as assigned

Legal & External Collections Coordination

  • Coordinate with external legal counsel on accounts escalated to legal action
  • Prepare and provide documentation required for legal proceedings, claims, and settlements
  • Monitor status of accounts placed with attorneys and ensure timely follow-up and resolution
  • Act as primary liaison between the property and attorneys on collection-related matters
  • Record detailed interactions with debtors, and attorneys

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of accounts receivable and/or collections experience
  • Experience in hospitality and/or casino gaming environment preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Experience with Infinium Software, hotel LMS and/or casino ACSC is a plus!
