Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the clandestine surveillance of casino operations, including table games, slots, cashiering cage, count rooms, and sports book, by way of closed-circuit television system.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Surveillance Department and the continued operation of the surveillance video management system.
  • Acts to detect cheating, theft, embezzlement and other illegal activities in the casino, count rooms, slot booths, cashiering cage and sports book.
  • Notifies management and Division of Gaming Enforcement as appropriate upon identification of cheating, theft, embezzlement or other illegal activities.
  • Responsible for the strategic planning of the Surveillance Department video management system and associated equipment across property.
  • Responsible for the periodic design, planning and installation of new surveillance equipment.
  • Handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Hiring, training, and development of staff and supervisory personnel.
  • Development and maintenance of department policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with vendors and contractors.
  • Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 13:69D 1.11(C) the Director of Surveillance reports directly to Vice President Administration (which reports directly to the chief gaming executive) regarding administrative matters and daily operations, and to the Audit Committee on matters of policy, purpose, responsibility, and authority.
  • Employees must adhere to the regulations set forth in N.J.A.C. 13:69D-1.10 and 1.11 and must sign an acknowledgement of these regulatory requirements prior to being employed in the Surveillance department.
  • Promotes positive public relations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, may substitute additional experience for degree.
  • Minimum six (6) years of appropriate experience.
  • Knowledge of casino games, skilled and advantage casino play, investigative techniques, and methods to defraud a casino.
  • Experienced in surveillance video management software.
  • Effective leadership, supervisory, and communication skills required.
  • NJ Casino Key License required
