Overview

  • Performs professional level duties related to Human Resources, primarily in regard to: health benefits and insurance administration, leave administration, and wellness program coordination.
  • Responsible for administering various benefit programs to include: medical, dental, vision, prescription, life insurance, and 401K.
  • Issues and explains benefit enrollment information to new hires during new hire processing and to all employees during open enrollment period.
  • Manages open enrollment process to include meeting with the Broker to determine benefit plans for upcoming year, update benefit plans in HRIS system, update benefit handbooks/packets, and communicate open enrollment information to employees.
  • Data enters employee benefit plan, insurance, COBRA and 401K changes into HRIS system and benefit provider portals.
  • Extracts 401K and benefit reports from HRIS system and uploads information to Benefit providers on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Prepares and distributes general benefit information to all employees.
  • Reviews, approves/denies and tracks leave of absence requests. Ensures all appropriate documentation is received. Provides employee with all necessary paperwork and information related to their leave request.
  • Point of contact for benefit and medical leave related inquiries and issues.
  • Assists employees with paperwork, responds to questions, and assists in resolving any related problems.
  • Stays up to date with federal and state government regulations, legislation and benefit trends.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed in the areas of employment / recruitment, training, and events / programs.
  • Promotes positive public relations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in Human Resources and Benefits/Leave Administration.
  • General knowledge of State, Federal and HR laws, practices and policies.
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality / professional discretion.
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle several projects and assignments simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS, and timekeeping systems.
  • Experience with Infinium/AS400, a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
