The System & Application Administrator’s role is to plan, organize, and to ensure the up to date, stable, secure and efficient operation of the organization’s server infrastructure & services. This includes responsibility for keeping current with server hardware, software, firmware, operating system levels, security practices, as well as operating in an optimal manner.


Strategy & Planning

  • Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure compute & storage capacity meets existing and future requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for server administration.
  • Oversee all reports and documentation related to supported systems
  • Develop proactive maintenance schedules for server/storage equipment
  • Develop Disaster Recovery plans, procedures, and processes for server area.

Operational Management

  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all server/storage equipment.  
  • Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation.
  • Oversee projects and project portfolio for enterprise servers & products.
  • Practice asset management, including maintenance of server component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
  • Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Perform server and security audits.
  • Perform system backups and recovery.
  • Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot Active Directory related issues.
  • Responds to all system security weak points and partners with other teams and third party vendors to resolve security issues
  • Adherence to change management policy/procedures
  • Tier 3 support for applications
  • Promotes positive public relations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Formal Education & Certification

  • Four-year university degree or college diploma in the field of computer science and/or 5 years equivalent work experience.
  • Certifications in any areas of Information Technology are desired

Knowledge & Experience

  • Product support and vendor management skills, required.
  • Competence in managing a virtualized server environment required
  • Experience with SAN/NAS technologies required
  • Experience in managing an Office 365/cloud based productivity suite environment a plus.
  • Experience with information security hardware/software is desirable.
  • Proven experience with compute/storage capacity planning required
  • Strong, hands-on technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems required
  • Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience required
  • Experience with eDiscovery & data forensics a plus
  • Understanding of disaster recovery & business continuity processes a plus.
  • Project management experience a plus.
  • Casino gaming environment/Hospitality Industry experience desirable

Technical Expertise

At least 5 years of hands-on experience with the following technologies:

  • Windows Server platform
  • VMWare ESX platform
  • Cisco UCS compute platform/ EMC SAN/ DataDomain
  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Microsoft SharePoint
  • Microsoft Sequel
  • Microsoft Powershell and/or VP scripting, desirable
